Kirinya Jinja SSS FC Junior Team head coach Hassan Zungu is satisfied with his team’s shape despite losing 3-1 to the Uganda cubs on Sunday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
The team booked a build-up match with the national youth side preparing for the 2019 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
“It was a good test for both teams. We saw the areas where we needed to improve before the league resumes. They also felt our impact and will surely pick some lessons from the challenge. I think we had a good first half which ended goalless but my boys failed to adopt to the artificial turf. They were drained and couldn’t keep the pace in the second period.” Zungu said after the match.
Lawrence Tezikya scored the consolation goal for the team as Isma Mugulusi, our own, netted one of the three for the national team.
Our midfielder Edwin Opaala and Delton Oyo also played a part for the national team in the game.
