Kirinya Jinja SSS FC head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko has reassured fans and other stakeholders that the team is very ready to face BUL FC in the derby on Wednesday.
The soft-speaking coach, while speaking to the media at a pre-match press conference, noted that the team is mentally and physically ready apart from his midfielder David Bagoole who is out injured.
“The team is well prepared for the game and just waiting for tomorrow. Apart from Bagooole, who is injured, we don’t have any other [injury] cases,” he revealed.
Kikomeko eased pressure on his players by encouraging them to take the game just like any other that they have played this year and won.
“We want to beat BUL so that we go ahead of them as the team continues to aim higher. There is no pressure in camp, we just want to play our football just like we have done in every other game.
The coach also wants to make history by becoming the first to win in this fixture. All the previous encounters have ended in stalemate with the most recent ending 2-2.
“They have never finished above us in the league and this is the right time to take the opportunity and go ahead of them. But most importantly, we should focus more on our game.”
In the absence of the midfield pin, Bogere is spoilt for choice with Vincent Zziwa, Joram Kirya and others all in good shape to fit in those spaces.
