Kirinya- Jinja SSS FC is a football Club based in Jinja District which plays its football in Uganda Premier league which is the topflight league in Ugandan football.
Kirinya-Jinja SSS FC is nicknamed “The Mighty Team” and their slogan is Boys Boys Yes We Can”
The club was bought by Madam Diana Nyago in 2012 from the Mechanics of Kirinya Road in Jinja.
Madam Diana Nyago is the headmistress of Jinja SSS and doubles as the club president as well.
Kirinya-Jinja SSS FC was formed in 2012 by Madam Diana Nyago, Mr Ngobi Frederick Gume, Mr Kawooma Yahaya and Mr Mugabi Samuel and the main purpose of forming it was to help old boys of Jinja SSS with talents to continue developing their talents even after school football.
After buying it from the Mechanics of Kirinya Road in Jinja, the name was changed from Kirinya FC to Kirinya- Jinja SSS United on registering it in the Regional League simply because before buying it from the Mechanics of Kirinya road in Jinja it was called Kirinya FC and it had been already relegated to the Eastern Regional League from FUFA Big League.
In 2012/2013 season the club started playing in the Eastern Regional League since it had been Relegated from the FUFA Big League and in that season they were under Coach Abey Kikomeko Bogere and they played the Regional playoffs final with Amazon FC in Mayuge at Mayuge District Local Government Stadium.
Amazon FC scored first in that final but after some minutes Kirinya- Jinja SSS United leveled matters a goal from Zungu Hassan and it became a one all draw but immediately after Kirinya- Jinja SSS United scored an equalizer from Zungu Hassan, Amazon FC fans entered the stadium and started fighting beating everyone who was on pitch with an intention of disorganizing the match and in the end the referee of the day had to end that match and the case was forwarded to the competitions Committee.
Finally FUFA come out and solved the matter and in the end Kirinya- Jinja SSS United won the case against Amazon FC in the boardroom and they were promoted to FUFA Big League in 2013/2014 season.
In 2013-2014 season the club again changed its name from Kirinya-JinjaSSS United to Kirinya-Jinja SSS FC and played in FUFA Big League for the first time in the history of Ugandan football as Kirinya- Jinja SSS United and they recruited late Mathew Lukya from Jinja Municipal Council and he was assisted by Abey Kikomeko Bogere who promoted them from Eastern Regional League to FUFA Big league.
In Big League 2013-2014 season the club faced stiff Competition from Sadolin Paints, Rwenshama KJT and Jinja Municipal Council whereby at the end of the first round of FUFA Big League they were in the 4th position and 15 points behind Jinja Municipal Council who were in the 3rd position.
However, at the beginning of the second round of the FUFA Big League they played very well given the fact that the students had finished their exams hence winning almost every game at home and making Kirinya- Jinja SSS play Ground a hard ground to pick points from.
The whole of the 2nd round they lost only one game against Sadolin Paints in Bugembe Stadium and drew one against KJT Rwenshama and picked 23 points in the second round something which was very good as compared to the 1st round of the league where they finished with 15 points and at the end finished in 3rd place behind Sadolin paints who toped the group and Rwenshama KJT who finished 2nd.
This granted them a chance to play in the promotional playoffs of FUFA Big league together with KJT as Sadolin qualified automatically to the top flight league which is the Uganda Premier League for season 2014-2015.
In the semifinals of the promotional playoffs of FUFA Big League they played with Bazza Holdings of Frank Anyawu(Who said that enkoko yomukyalo tekokolimira mukibuga)But surprisingly they ejected his team Bazza holdings out of the tournament by 2-0 and played the finals with KJT Rwenshama who had eliminated Mutundwe Lions. It was so unfortunate that they lost the playoffs final to KJT 3-2 at Phillip Omwondi Stadium in Lugogo thus they were denied a chance of playing in the top flight league 2014-2015 season.
The club played again in FUFA Big league for 2014-2015 season but still failed to qualify automatically which meant that they had to go back and participate in the promotional playoffs after finishing second in group behind Maroons with 19 points from 12 games in Elgon group.
Still in the playoffs they lost 6-2 to Jinja Municipal Council at Star Times Stadium Lugogo and yet they had beaten Water FC on penalties in the semi finals.
In 2015/2016 season Kirinya-Jinja SSS FC was promoted to Uganda Premier League under the management of Abbey Bogere Kikomeko and captained by Kasonko Gorge on the last day of the season after beating Wandegeya FC 3-2 in Kanyanya at Kanyaya play ground and topped the group with one point a head of Proline which was at top of the group in regular season from day one of the season. Goals were scored by Otim James, Magumba Musa and Allan Drajua who scored a winner.
